Why is this handy?
Automatically punching out frees you up to use both hands when looping in Ableton. For example, when playing an instrument such as piano or guitar. It also makes looping in Ableton more intuitive and fun to use.
How does it work?
1. Add the auto punch out device to any MIDI track (Audio version also available).
2. Choose the bar length you want (i.e., 1 Bar, 2 Bars, 4 Bars).
That’s it! Now, when you trigger clip recording on that track, the clip will automatically stop recording after the set number of bars.
Auto Punch Out for Ableton supports the following bar counts:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,16,17,32,33
